Mosaic Jewish Community Proudly presents at 7.30 pm ‘A Second Chance’ followed by Questions To Rex Bloomstein (film director) and Darren Burns (head of Prisoner Rehabilitation Programme)
Mosaic Jewish Community has been supporting newly released prisoners, at the prison in Wolverhampton. We have passed our initial target and have now donated over 400 suitcases and holdalls, since we started. We have made a difference to many men on their first taste of freedom.
Timpson, the shoe repair, key cutting and film processing company, helps prisoners inside prison learn a new skill, in preparation for their release. Many of the trainees gain employment at Timpson on release and the Timpson Foundation employs over 500 former prisoners in their shops and related roles. The Foundation has recently had a film shot, showing the lives of 6, now former prisoners, who went through the training scheme and all started careers on release at Timpson. We are privileged to be allowed to show the film. We will then be able to pose questions to Rex,and to Darren Burns. The film is gripping and shows what real help can do, to help others, help themselves and stop re-offending. There is no charge for the evening but we invite Donations towards the Timpson Foundation.
