CST is introducing a new training course specifically for members of the community who volunteer for security roles at synagogues and has arranged for a course to be run at a Northwood location on Mondays 9th, 16th & 23rd May from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. The six hour training course, which is spread over three sessions, does not contain any physical element and on completion, participants will become Security Support Officers affiliated to CST. Participants must be aged between 18 and 72.
Unlike the more in-depth courses that CST run, this course has been designed to teach community members the basic security needs in a short space of time. It is ideal for those who already participate in voluntary security but have minimal knowledge of what to do, or for those who want to take up an active role in communal security . By the end of the course, those who have attended will have a better understanding of the threat the Jewish community face, and what they can do to help protect our community.
Before you can attend the course you MUST complete the online registration form which can be found on CST’s website here: https://cst.org.uk/courses/level-1-course-012-northwood-may-2016 . Once CST has received and approved your application they will then send you a confirmation email. Without the form being completed they may not be able to accept you on this course. In the meantime should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact either Sue Mendoza or Jonathan Roback via the Synagogue Office or the CST training department by on 020 8457 9999, selecting option 2.
