Rabbi Frank invites you to join him in an interfaith walk on Sunday 29th October from 10.00 – 14.00. The 10km walk will pass different places of worship and sites significant to Brent’s varied faith communities. The aim is to bring together people of faith/no faith to raise awareness of our common purpose in combatting food poverty in the local community.
Sufra strongly encourages participants to raise sponsorship for the food bank, which costs £80,000 a year to operate, and receives no government or trust funds. However, this is not a condition of participation. Whilst funds are essential in sustaining the food bank, it is also important that our diverse community displays solidarity with our neighbours who have fallen on hard times and cannot afford to buy basic household essentials.
The walk will end with a vegetarian buffet on St. Raphael’s Edible Garden, our food growing project, which provides a therapeutic space for the vulnerable and horticulture training for children and adults.
Sufra kindly requests a registration fee of £10 to cover the cost of a branded t-shirt and refreshments. Participants who raise £99 in sponsorship (not including Gift Aid) in advance of the walk will have their registration fee refunded. Meet at Sufra NW London, 160 Pitfield Way, London NW10 0PW
