This week: Mazeltov to Zoe Buchalter on winning a Jack Petchey award at HaMakom, an update on James Alexander’s D of E training and news of two members planning to walk all night – read on!
Mazel Tov to this week’s HEMS birthdays: Martin Shoffman, Alan Grossman, Richard Buchalter and Sharon Grossman.
Zoe Buchalter’s helpful and cheery attitude has been recognised by HaMakom and she has been awarded the prestigious Jack Petchey award. Zoe’s award recognises her positive attitude and willingness to help out with the younger children. Her relaxed demeanour puts the younger kids at their ease. She is continuing her work at HaMakom and is following on in the footsteps of other HEMS young adults (Gillian Lucas, Talia Austin) by training to become a teaching assistant. We wish her a hearty Mazel tov.
Well done to James Alexander who is currently in training for his Duke Of Edinburgh Gold Award. The final is later this year and further arduous training is on the cards. James is delighted that he will not have to spend cold nights in the Brecon Beacons for the final. We wish him well.
HEMS members Sue Mendoza and Sharon Grossman are part of a team of ladies training for the 14th May 2016 London Moonwalk to raise money to help cure breast cancer. This is an overnight walk covering a marathon course of over 26 miles.
