Matt Plen is taking part in the following online discussion with the Friends of Louis Jacobs:
What is the Purpose of Synagogue Today? Sunday 18th April 2021 at 8.00 pm on Zoom. Based on research carried out by the Institute for Jewish Policy Research only 28% of Jews attend synagogue once a week and given such a decline in numbers is it time to drop prayer in synagogue and focus congregations around broader areas of Jewish civilization? How has the pandemic perhaps changed synagogue appeal for good? Are we still commanded or is autonomy now solely in the hands of individuals? Director Simon Eder will be in conversation with Matt Plen, Chief Executive of Masorti Judaism. Admission is free but booking is required: https://louisjacobs.org/lj-event/what-is-the-purpose-of-synagogue-today/

On Wednesday 21st April at 8.00 pm Masorti Judaism is delighted to welcome Israeli Ambassador H.E. Tzipi Hotovely for an honest conversation with Senior Masorti Rabbi Jonathan Wittenberg, facilitated by Masorti member and Interim Chief Executive of the Board of Deputies, Michael Wegier.
