Breaking news
A hearty mazeltov to our member Hannah Glass who informed us, just before Shavout, that she has accepted the hand of Gidon Ross, in marriage. There is no date for the completion of the deal as yet. We wish the new couple all the best in the years ahead.  We also extend hearty members to Hannah’s parents Elaine and Simon and to Hannah’s grandmother Alayne. Whilst we personally do not know Gidon’s wider family, we look forward to congratulating them personally when we one day meet up.

Shavuot weekend
Thanks to everyone who helped over Saturday, Sunday and Monday, with davening, dvaring and to Sarah for being so good whilst her dad was davening. Thanks to Anthony for leading a session at the 3 way Tikun leyal on Saturday night. A special thanks to Gill for all the catering throughout the weekend.  It was a massive undertaking to set up and organise.

There is a kiddish this week for Gillian Lucas, as well as two round figure birthdays, celebrated by Dr Joe and Edwin.  You have been notified separately about it and if you plan to come, please advise us by noon on Friday, so we can up requirements if necessary.

Stone setting
The stone setting for the late John Levy will take place at  2pm on Monday 20th June, at Cheshunt. Sue would like to know who might plan to return to her home after the stone setting, so she can organise the refreshments.

Please allow additional time to arrive there as there are often roadworks on the M25.

Keep free
Rabbi Natasha is leaving Mosaic Masorti as her secondment to us will have finished after 3 years. How time flies!

Please come and join Rabbi Natasha on the weekend of 1st – 2nd July. It is in 3 week’s time. There will be a:-

  • Friday night service and dinner,
  • kiddish and a special lunch thereafter – hopefully outside within walking distance of the Guides
  • havdalah service starting at 7.30pm

Please advise Gill if you plan to come to any of the events, as we have never been known to under cater and this will not be the first time either! All donations will be greatly appreciated and help to set up on the Shabbas would also be welcome.

Refuah Schlemahs
We always mention people who are unwell at the Shabbat service and to wish them a speedy recovery. If you would like a person mentioned, please notify by sunset on a Friday.

Sponsoring a kiddish
If you would like to sponsor a kiddish for any special occasion, like  a birthday, anniversary, before going on a special journey, coming back from a special journey, new home, restored good health, please advise Ann in the office and she will see if the date is free

Walking is still healthy
Henry and Barbara still have slots for non-enthusiastic walkers. You will be welcomed by enthusiastic fit walkers. They are both passionate that we all have an enjoyable healthy summer. The walks are fun and there is a refreshment built in at the end for all attendees. I wonder if there will be strawberries and cream.

Meetings with Rabbi Anthony
Anthony is always available to chat to congregants and can meet up also in your home. If you have any wishes, or ideas, please advise Anthony

Visiting the not so healthy
If you are feeling below par and would like Anthony to pay you a visit, please contact him directly
