Second Test Shabbat in Stanmore
We are delighted to announce that we will be holding another test service in the new building in Stanmore Hill this Shabbat 10th December. The service will start at 0945 and we will all have a joint kiddish with the other 2 communities at around 1215. Whilst the building is not yet fully furnished, we will welcome any feedback from congregants to help us on our way to settling in.

Saturday 24th December – Visit of Yizhar Hess
The deputy chair of the World Zionist Organisation and former CEO of Masorti Israel, Yizhar Hess, will be visiting our community on Saturday 24th December, at 7.00 pm, at Rabbi Anthony’s home. Yizhar is an engaging commentator on the religious situation in Israel, an articulate opponent of religious fundamentalism, and his writings have appeared on many platforms. He will give a short talk on his current work, and take questions. Please let Rabbi Anthony know if you are interested in attending – light refreshments will be provided.

Thursday 12th January – Malts and Megillahs
Please keep the date free for a whisky tasting at the new shul, raising funds for vital preservation work on our community’s beautiful megillah. Donated by our member Cecil Cherns z”l, this likely dates back to 1880s Lithuania. It is written in a beautiful scribal hand, but is in need of restoration as the letters fade and the parchment dries out. If we do not act now, the megillah will soon be utterly pasul (unusable). This should be a good opportunity to try some boutique and luxury single malts whilst raising money for a good cause. Any excess funds raised will go to Harrow Food Bank.
