Tomorrow night
Tomorrow night there is an evening service in shul starting at 6.30pm. Thereafter there is a bring a dish meal. Come to the service or and the meal. Last month we had 11 attendees for the service and the atmosphere was wonderful. Make the Rabbi happy and those saying kaddish too.
In 8 days’ time it will be Erev Rosh Hashannah. This is a reminder that the services throughout the High Holy Day period are in the Shree Swaminarayan Temple Stanmore, HA7 4LF. It is easy to get there on foot from Stanmore Hill, or by public transport and there is ample car parking on the grounds. There will be no crossing of roads.
You will have received the detailed timetable for all the High Holy Day timetable with your latest edition of Kehila.
Spare seats
No tickets are needed for the services. We just want to know who is coming, who is not a member of Mosaic and would like all visitors to make a donation towards the cost of running the High Holy Day location.
Youth provision
We will be holding a youth activity on Days 1 and 2 Rosh Hashannah and also on Yom Kippur morning. The latter will coincide with the timing of Yizkor. If any adult would like to assist in the running of the activities for the youth, please contact Simon Glass, or and Rabbi Anthony.
Machzorim
We still have some new machzorim for the HHD period. We have some of the Harlow machzor and also some Routledge editions too which can be borrowed on the day.
Visit to Cheshunt cemetery
As we have been highlighting, it is customary to visit relatives the graves of relatives and friends buried at cemeteries before the High Holy Days. Rabbi Anthony has arranged a visit to the main cemetery at Cheshunt between 1100 – 1300, on Wednesday 13th September so congregants can visit their departed loved ones, with someone to accompany them. In the past, we have visited the graves, as a group, to former Mosaic Masorti members. We are happy to extend this. Please have the details and contact Edwin if you plan to attend and we will try and sort out additional transport, leaving MJC Stanmore Hill at 1015. There are still car park spaces.
Do you fancy schlepping?
Schleppers still needed for Friday 15th September. To sort out shul. Do not be shy and do not rely on your pals as we do not want them to cry. We need muscles and lots of them.
