In 24 hours, Rosh Hashannah starts and we will be having an erev Rosh Hashannah service. Come along at 6.30pm and enjoy the start of the High Holy Day festivals. Don’t be square and let’s see you there.
New Baby
Mazeltov to new grandparents, Mark and Paulette, on the birth of their first grandson to their daughter Ami and partner Jo. We wish them well and are delighted that the new arrival came in time to taste apple and honey for a sweet New Year.
Seats at the Temple
We still have spare seats to give those of you who know of people who are not committed to a service yet. You can call Edwin this evening or on Friday and he will be waiting to assist and make your friends happy.
Tashlich
Come and join Rabbi Anthony, Abi and the girls at the lake in Stanmore to throw away any sins you may have inadvertently committed this year and have a great clear conscience for the new year ahead. There is still place at the Rabbi’s table for a post lakeside meal and a service and a chat about RH customs from yesteryear.
Shofars
Please, please, make a note in your dairies, tablets, i phones and for people like me, kitchen display board, or a post-it on the front door, that we are looking for a “minyan” of shofar blowers following Neilah. Yes, it is a new term to learn. Bring along, or borrow a shofar. There are a lot of shofars waiting to be sounded in the community.
This is our last message of the year. It has been lovely writing to you all. Read on in the New Year and we look forward to more communications in the New Year. As people say colloquially, “Have a good one” and may it be a healthy one.
