This Saturday night 7th October, we are celebrating Simchat Torah with lots of pop – oops pomp and ceremony. The honorants are:-
* Michael W Harris Chatan Torah
* Wifey Linda Lucas Callat Bereishit
Both honorants are well known, so come along and show us what you have learnt from “Strictly”, as Hall 4 will be turned into a dance and fun floor, for the evening. Rabbi Anthony will be there compering the service and Simon Glass will be “doing his usual”, so if you have not seen that before, come along and witness the fun at the festival. Tradition, as we mentioned in the address to the community at Yom Kippur, is really brought to the fore.
After you have been to Hakufot on Saturday night and enjoyed the d&d, you have the opportunity to come to a service on Sunday morning. The sun will have risen – hopefully by the start time of 0945. Come along to hear the end of one Torah cycle and the beginning of the next. As is traditional, all congregants will receive an aliyah – including those not yet Bar Mitzvah!
Dates for your diaries, handkerchiefs, or smart phones
0001 on Monday 9th October – It is the final copy time and date for the next edition of Kehila. Please send in your articles for inclusion.
Tuesdays and every one at that Walking with Henry. I am told it is an easy walk and talk for 2 hours with food and good chat on the way. Do not be shy and give it a try. Call the office for the meeting place.
Friday November 3rd, 24th and December 15th
There will be a Friday night Shabbat service and meal thereafter, at the home of Rabbi Anthony and Abi,
as well as Sarah and Nina. Please book early as the Succah will no longer be
