The annual Open Talmud Weekend is back for 2016, running from the evening of Thursday 1st September until the end of Sunday 4th September. For the first time ever they are also offering some extra days of learning beforehand, from Tuesday 30th August until Thursday 1st September as an Pre-Weekend Intensive. The Open Talmud Project is a cross-denominational, grass-roots initiative for close encounter with Talmud, and other Jewish texts, in a vibrant, supportive and intellectually open environment with excellent teachers, and a diverse group of people, including beginners and more experienced learners.
This year their theme is Pushing Boundaries. Open Talmud will be an extravaganza of Jewish texts, covering Talmud, Tanach, Midrash, Chasidut and contemporary philosophy. Teachers will include Masorti Chief Executive Matt Plen and Rabbi Roni Tabick, rabbi of New Stoke Newington Shul. Here is a link to more information and to buy tickets.
