Yellow Candles

The Yom Hashoah yellow candle lighting will take place at 7.30 on Wednesday 7th April.  Please have your candles ready to light to remember the name of the person who perished, which is on your card. “During the Yom HaShoah national commemoration, there will be a Yellow Candle Lighting ceremony and we are encouraging people to light their candles during the communal ceremony. If anyone would like to watch the commemoration they can do this at Yom HaShoah UK | Annual Jewish Remembrance Day for Victims of the Holocaust”.

So far 22,000 candles have been sent to individuals despite the constraints of lockdown. That is marvellous. If you contact Maccabi  today, you could still get some candles before Wednesday’s lighting.   You may have to pick them up.  Remembering the past is recognising our future.
