“Calais Children: A Case to Answer”

Edgware & Kol Nefesh Masorti Synagogues together with JCORE invite you to the screening of this new film by Sue Clayton on Tuesday 9th January at 7.30 pm.  Following the film, there will be a discussion facilitated by Dr Edie Friedman, CEO of JCORE.  £5 for Masorti Members, £10 for guests.  Proceeds to be split between JCORE’s Coats4Calais Appeal & Calais Children’s Refugee Organisation.  When the Calais “jungle” was razed in 2016, over 1900 unaccompanied minors were left stranded.  Many had a legal case to enter the UK but they suffered delays & denials from the British Government & were finally abandoned in France with no support.  Sue Clayton fought to get these young people recognised & their cases heard.  Her film follows them over the months after the closure of the camp & records her legal fight on their behalf.  Please bring a gift of new socks, gloves, scarves or hat or donate towards this at the door.  Venue: EMS, Bakery Path, Edgware HA8 7YE.
