We last showed this wonderful movie in 2014, but it is well worth seeing over and over. This, the original 1962 Hollywood version of Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize winning novel, is arguably one of the great American movies of the 1960s. After 60 years it has not lost its impact. It won the Best Actor Oscar for Gregory Peck who starred as Atticus Finch, the defence lawyer for a young black worker wrongly accused of rape. This warm and moving story is told through the eyes of Mary Louise (Scout) Finch, Atticus’ young daughter, and charts the story of the Trial, its aftermath and life in the small Southern town of Maycomb over a period of three summers. It is an inspiring story of small-town bigotry, morality and of growing up.

Warm up a cold winter’s evening and do come along. This is a wonderful film you won’t be sorry that you saw.
