Meet the Family of the Artist – Pat Schaverien

During May the family of the late Pat Schaverien will be exhibiting her paintings.

Pat was one of the illustrators of the Movement for Reform Judaism’s Festival Machzor.  One of her paintings appears and her name is in the list of artists at the end

Pat was born in London and studied fine art at Hornsey School of Art and printmaking at the Slade School.  She was the recipient of an Arts Council of Great Britain award and exhibited in London and the countryside and had various commissions throughout her career.  Pat has work at the Ben Uri Gallery, the V & A and other galleries. Most of her prints are a combination of etching with a drypoint needle and aquatint.  Aquatint copies the effect of a watercolour wash and can be very subtle.  She also enjoyed doing book illustrations and greeting cards.

Proceeds from this exhibition will go to the Marie Curie Hospice in Hampstead.
