Mitzvah Day with Mosaic – Sunday 18th November

Sunday, November 18

Goods for Good
GOODS FOR GOOD is a UK registered charity that donates private sector overstock and community donations of goods to registered charities worldwide. Its mission is to lessen the burden of poverty and suffering by providing donated goods to organisations that request support and where specific goods have been requested.
We need STATIONERY EQUIPMENT of all sorts including:  felt pens , crayons, pencils, drawing and colouring books, new arts and crafts materials, to make up gifts for the children living in poverty in these places. We also need good quality children’s and adult’s unwanted clothes.

Additional fun activities at HaMakom (at Kol Chai)
We will make fruit kebabs and will be planting bulbs and will take them to the residents of The Haven, Hatch End. The children are also going to entertain the residents with some songs.
Decorating Tissue boxes for Jewish Women’s Aid They would really like to receive decorated tissue boxes to use in their counselling rooms. We need plain boxes of tissues which the children will then decorate.

FOR EVERYONE
10am – 12:30pm   Join Care 4 Free, a local environmental organisation, to help to clear Croxley Common Moor. As well as taking part in a very worthwhile project, we hope to have a great deal of fun. The organisation will provide all the necessary safety equipment.
1pm – 3pm   Join volunteers from synagogues, churches, mosques and schools who are also part of Harrow Citizens and help us clean up the streets of Harrow and raise awareness of mental health provisions available in Harrow. Meet at St Peter’s Church (Sumner Road HA1 4BX) wearing suitable clothing and equipped with garden gloves and grabbers to join the action. The afternoon will conclude with tea and biscuits and a chance to get to know each other.

We need as many volunteers as possible for all the above activities. HaMakom activities on Mitzvah Day will take place at 434 Uxbridge Road. Goods can be left at Bessborough Road or at Kol Chai Synagogue labelled for Mitzvah Day. Please advise us in advance if you wish to help with the Harrow Citizens’ clean up Harrow or help at Croxley Green.  Come along and be part of the fun this Mitzvah Day – it’s a mitzvah! Most activities will take place between 10.30 – 12.30 at HaMakom (434 Uxbridge Road) unless otherwise stated.
