6.50-7.45:
Revelation – Standing at Sinai with Rabbi Kathleen de Magtige-Middleton and Rabbi Michael Hilton
Looking at Midrash Shir HaShirim, we will try and discover what the Rabbis may have thought happened at Sinai. How did they imagine Torah was revealed or was it given? And what precisely was given or revealed? Could a particular worldview have influenced this rabbinic understanding? And what can we learn from all this?

or
The Art of Photography: Flowers, landscapes and more with professional photographer Gary Italiaander
Shavuot has always been connected with flowers but how do you capture them? Gary, a professional photographer for over 30 years, based at Harrods, will explain how to improve your photography regardless of what you ‘shoot’ on – camera or mobile phone. Gary will show images that he has taken covering many aspects of photography that will help you to get the most out of your own ‘image captures’.
7.50-8.45:
Dairy baking masterclass with Janet Lipton
Come and join our Shavuot dairy baking masterclass. Learn how to make a scrumptious hazelnut and chocolate cheesecake and moreish spinach and feta bourekas. Janet is a keen amateur cook and enjoys baking for Kol Chai’s bistro, festivals and charity coffee mornings.
or
Radical Readings of Ruth with Rabbi Naomi Goldman
Using art, contemporary poetry and a close reading of the text, we will be looking at what kind of assumptions we make when we read the Book of Ruth. If we read the story in different ways, what kinds of relationships and ambiguities might emerge? We will study some feminist and queer interpretations and see if other Biblical stories might throw some light on what’s really going on.
