Mosaic Book Group started in September 2003. We meet every six weeks or so and our members come from all three Mosaic communities as well as outside. We meet at the Synagogue at 12.30 on a Wednesday for a sandwich lunch, chat and discussion, usually finishing some time after 2. We take turns choosing a book and recent titles have been: Jamaica Inn by Daphne du Maurier, The Slave by Isaac Bashevis Singer, The Lonely Londoner by Sam Selvon and Old Filth by Jane Gardam. Although we currently have twenty-two members on the books, the meetings are usually attended by fourteen or fifteen so everyone gets a chance to put their views. We find the most surprising titles provoke the best discussions !!
Janet Solomon is the facilitator and leads the discussion in an open environment in which everyone can express their opinions.
