Intermediate Chit-Chat b’Ivrit
Thursday, 8th May @ 11:00 am to 12:30 pm
This is an opportunity for people to get together and have coffee and conversations in Hebrew. It assumes some basic level of Hebrew but the aim is to converse and improve. It may have to include some grammar!!
The teacher is Reuven Vazan who is Israeli, is experienced and already teaching different levels of Hebrew online and face to face as well as in a classroom at Kenton Synagogue for over 7 years.
Sessions are held fortnightly and the cost is £10.

Shabbat Beiteinu with Potluck Dinner
Friday, 9th May @ 6:30 pm
Choose between a joint Liberal/Reform service 6.30 (also via Zoom) or a Masorti service at 6.45 followed by dinner at 7.30. People are welcome to come for all or some of the evening and don’t be afraid to come if you can only make it for the food!
Please bring a vegetarian or fish meal for a potluck dinner and if you require Rabbinically supervised food (KLBD), please let us know.
We are asking people to RSVP (preferably by midday on the day before the event) so that we have an idea of the numbers. Please email beiteinu@choosemosaic.org

Meet the Artist – Claudine Mann

Claudine Mann is a local Mixed Media Artist and has always had a passion for Art, creativity & culture.
She completed an Art Foundation Course at Middlesex University and went on to do a degree in Printed & Knitted Textiles at Glasgow School of Art.
She then pursued another career before reconnecting with her creative side and now regularly attends Life Drawing classes which she loves and has been creating new pieces of art for pleasure and commissions.
Claudine has a large variety of artworks which include Multi Media Canvasses, Monoprints and Life Drawings. She loves to create colourful pieces of art and uses embellishments, collage and glitter to make her work come to life.
Mosaic Creative Writing Course

Sue Krisman, Mosaic Jewish Community member, is a novelist, playwright and lecturer. She was formerly Creative Writing Fellow at Reading University and has lectured at Limmud and Spiro’s Ark.
Please join us for the next session, for which there will be a £5 charge payable on the day.

Portrait Painting Course

Adam Ashton, who recently held an exhibition of his work at Mosaic, is running a Portrait Painting Course at Mosaic. The course will cover landscape silhouettes with paint on canvas and the art of portraits in pencil, charcoal and paint.
The classes will be held over 8 Mondays in May, June and July and will cost £120. The course should be booked in advance using the link below.

Drop In And Play Group
Monday, 12th May @ 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
A drop-in and play group for all kids and their grown-ups on Monday afternoons. There’ll be toys, soft play, and art activities for the kids to explore giving their grownups a chance to have a drink and talk to other parents, carers, and grandparents in the area. Hebrew Chit-Chat for Beginners

We now have a class every other Thursday specifically for beginners with a fee of £10 per session. The teacher is Reuven Vazan.
Many of you who have learnt Hebrew in the past will be aware of the gap between knowing the languge and being able to speak it, which this course will aim to close.

Family Shabbat Shira Service

We are delighted to invite you to Shabbat Shira, our family friendly service, led by David Pollak.
- Sing all the familiar and joyous Shabbat Shira tunes,
- See, touch and hear the Torah
- Help in dressing and undressing the Torah Scroll
- And hear the story of the week..
The service is recommended for children under 11, but all ages are welcome and older siblings are invited to take more active part in the service.
